undue

Undue is an adjective used to describe that which is unwarranted or inappropriate because excessive or disproportionate. Inappropriate, unjustifiable, improper. Not owed or currently payable.

Examples:

  1. He made an ‘undue’ remark regarding the group which was taken very sensitively by many.
  2. Seeking ‘undue’ attention is dangerous for oneself.
  3. She has been able to achieve remarkable success whilst ensuring that she didn’t do anything ‘undue’ to get to her current station.
