Morbid is an adjective that relates to an unpleasant subject. Not healthy or normal – mental state or attitude. Unwholesomely gloomy, sensitive, extreme. Relating to disease.

Examples:

  1. He had a ‘morbid’ interest in success. So much so that it eventually effected his health.
  2. His ‘morbid’ attitude and sense of humour really pushed people away from him.
  3. She had a ‘morbid’ mental condition which never really allowed her to live her life to her full potential.
