Mollify 1

Mollify is a verb that when used can take the meanings; to soften, reduce, mitigate, lower in intensity. to induce calmness in feelings or where anger present.

Examples:

  1. They increased the amount within the redundancy pay, in an attempt, to ‘mollify’ the workers who had been with the firm for over a decade.
  2. He used prayer to ‘mollify’ his anger, which had been caused from the false allegation made upon him.
  3. Religion can ‘mollify’ even the most stone-cold of individuals.
