equivocal 1

Equivocal is an adjective that is used to portray something which has more than one meaning, not easily understood or explained. Having multiple interpretations, questionable, suspicious.

Examples:

  1. For each question he was asked, he responded with an ‘equivocal’ answer.
  2. He walks around the streets, a lone wolf, with an ‘equivocal’ attitude.
  3. Sometimes to avoid telling people the clear cut truth, people speak in an ‘equivocal’ manner.
