Cursory is an adjective that is used to describe that which is done or made quickly. Going rapid over something. Hasty.

Examples:

  1. His choice to take only a ‘cursory’ glance at the contract, meant that he had signed away something that he had not originally intended.
  2. It was noticeable from the left over mess and the slight damages, that only a ‘cursory’ inspection and clean up of the rooms was done before the tenants moved in.
  3. Every morning he takes a ‘cursory’ glance at the news, and only reads up entirely on that which catches his eye in the first instance.
