Coy is an adjective that is used to describe being secretive. Not telling or revealing all of the information that can be revealed. Shy, reserved, hesitant, modest.

Examples:

  1. Due to his nature, he would always give ‘coy’ responses to questions.
  2. He presents himself in a ‘coy’ manner.
  3. Political individuals tend to be ‘coy’ about their real intentions and only show that which the public will want to see or hear, in order to get the public trust in them.
